Apple Developing Enterprise AI Server for 2029 Launch
Apple is working on an enterprise AI server using its M8 Ultra chips, set to launch in 2029. The server would come in two configurations: one pairing two M8 Ultra chips and one pairing four.
The project's momentum is attributed to new Apple CEO John Ternus' support, who was a backer of the server at its inception roughly a year ago while leading Apple's hardware engineering division.
Nvidia has been in talks with Apple about using its NVLink Fusion interconnect platform to link M8 Ultra chips together. Some Apple engineers believe NVLink Fusion represents the best available connectivity solution for the project.
