Apple Pay Gets Boost with Redesigned Checkout Interface and New Features
Apple Pay has received a significant upgrade with four new features and an expansion of its reach. The revamped checkout interface in iOS 27 allows users to easily switch between cards during the checkout process, view card information, and see rewards balances. Apple also partnered with American Express to enable users to pay with Membership Rewards points.
The partnership enables users to apply points towards purchases online or in-app, and each point is valued at 0.7 cents. Additionally, a new 'Tap to Share' feature integrates with Apple Pay for in-store shopping, allowing customers to share information such as email and shipping address securely.
Another feature allows users to manage their debit card balances directly within the Apple Pay interface, enabling them to add money to supported cards. Furthermore, Walmart is finally rolling out support for Apple Pay, starting with stores in Arkansas and expanding nationwide by the end of the year.
