Apple Unveils Premium iPhone Lineup, Boosts AI Ambitions
Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone offerings, focusing on premium variants for initial release. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models are priced higher than previous releases, marking a significant wager on the high-end segment, according to Apple's new CEO John Ternus.
Ternus stated, 'This is a significant wager on the premium segment, and we believe it will yield substantial rewards.'
Carrier promotions in the U.S. are expected to boost the iPhone upgrade cycle, with some incentives offering up to $1200 towards new devices. Bank of America analyst Wamsi Mohan has reiterated a Buy rating on Apple, projecting a price target of $370.
Mohan highlighted capital returns, Apple's potential in edge AI, and opportunities for new products and market penetration as factors contributing to his bullish outlook.
Apple is also exploring the development of an AI server using two to four M8 Ultra chips, potentially integrating Nvidia's NVLink Fusion technology. This collaboration could synchronize Apple's custom chips with NVIDIA's data-center solutions, expanding Apple's chip strategy beyond consumer electronics.
