AstraZeneca's Oncology Portfolio Drives Growth with New Cancer Drugs
AstraZeneca's oncology portfolio has been driving growth for the company, accounting for roughly 46% of its total revenues. The segment saw a 15% increase in sales to $14.1 billion in the first half of 2026 at constant exchange rates.
The strong performance was led by established blockbusters like Tagrisso, Lynparza, Imfinzi, Calquence, and Enhertu (in partnership with Daiichi Sankyo). AstraZeneca's profit-sharing deal with Merck for Lynparza has also contributed to its success.
However, the company is shifting its focus towards newer products and label expansions. Key new cancer drugs in AstraZeneca's portfolio include Truqap for HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer and Datroway, a TROP2-directed antibody drug conjugate co-developed with Daiichi Sankyo.
Truqap is seeing significant growth outside the US market, while Datroway has shown strong launch uptake trends. AstraZeneca is evaluating Datroway in multiple breast and lung cancer settings, including combinations with other drugs like Imfinzi and pembrolizumab.
