A man has been arrested in Escambia County, Florida, for allegedly scamming someone out of $105,000. According to Sheriff Chip Simmons' Facebook post, the victim was targeted by 36-year-old Evera Charles Brown, who claimed to be with the Santa Rosa County Clerk of the Court.

Brown told the victim they had missed jury duty and would face jail time unless they paid a fine personally. The victim withdrew $105,000 in cash and met Brown at an empty Home Depot parking lot, where they handed over the money.

Sheriff Simmons said deputies identified Brown as the scammer with help from the FBI in Atlanta. Brown will be transported back to Escambia County on either August 3 or 4 to face charges.
