Aviationtag is collaborating with Icelandair to create limited-edition tags made from real aircraft material. The project commemorates the Boeing 757, which was retired in fall 2025. A specially painted Boeing 757, registered TF-FIU and known as Hekla, was used for this collaboration. Aviationtag's team removed sections of the aircraft's skin that showed a well-preserved Northern Lights livery, starting in July 2026.

Each tag features varying colors from the aircraft's original livery, depending on the area of the fuselage the piece comes from. According to Tobias Richter, Co-Founder of Aviationtag, 'An aircraft like Hekla Aurora doesn't come along every day. Its livery and history and the connection people feel to it are simply extraordinary.'
