Banks Lend Crux AI $22 Billion for Google-Designed AI Processors
A major consortium of banks has arranged $22 billion in debt to fund specialized AI processors for Blackstone and Alphabet's joint venture, Crux AI.
The loan is secured directly by Google's Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) and Crux AI's customer agreements, with a separate $1 billion revolving credit facility also available.
Crux AI aims to provide cloud computing power directly to top AI labs, backed by an initial $5-billion equity investment from Blackstone.
The deal represents one of the latest high-stakes financing arrangements supporting the rapidly expanding infrastructure required for advanced AI applications.
