Berrington Takes Reins at Welsh Ambulance Service Amid Strategic Shift

Phil Berrington has taken on the role of Chair at Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust, effective October 1. He succeeds Colin Dennis, who welcomed the appointment and praised Berrington's experience.

Berrington brings a background in financial management and consulting to the position, having worked with major companies like Hewlett Packard, PwC, and IBM. As Chair, he aims to bring a '360 lens' to decision-making and prioritize patient care and the interests of staff and the public.

Outgoing Chair Colin Dennis described handing over as bittersweet but expressed confidence in Berrington's ability to support the organization's growth. The Welsh Ambulance Service is at a critical juncture, with work underway on a new long-term strategy and a focus on improving patient care and experience.
