Billy Joel's Death Denied After Google Error
Billy Joel's publicist has denied speculation about his death after a reported Google error led some users to believe he had passed away. The singer, who underwent brain surgery in September, discussed his health on SiriusXM's 'The Billy Joel Channel' on September 9.
In the show, Joel reassured fans that he was still alive and doing well. He explained that he initially resisted his medical team's recommendation to undergo surgery to implant a shunt in his brain but eventually agreed after researching its benefits.
Joel has been open about his health issues, including his diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus, which led him to cancel his scheduled stadium shows in 2025 and 2026. He returned to the stage in January by performing with a cover band in Florida.
