A Boeing 737 captain and experienced instructor has made a shocking claim about the recent cockpit attack on Flydubai's Flight FZ1073. According to Petter Hörnfeldt, also known as Mentour Pilot, the co-pilot may have intentionally switched off the aircraft's engines during the violent assault.

The incident occurred on a Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight that suddenly lost over 16,000 feet of altitude in just under 30 seconds. Authorities in the UAE confirmed that the co-pilot attacked Captain Smit Machchhar with a cockpit crash axe and attempted to take control of the plane.

Passengers and crew managed to subdue the co-pilot, while two off-duty pilots helped regain control and divert the aircraft to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely. Hörnfeldt's claim has not been publicly confirmed by investigators, who are still examining the sequence of events inside the cockpit.
