Boeing 737 MAX 10 Certification on Track for End-September

Alaska Air is expecting Boeing's 737 MAX 10 to receive certification from the Federal Aviation Administration by the end of September. The airline plans to take delivery of its first aircraft next spring, with the goal of putting it into passenger service between April and mid-May.

Chief Operating Officer Jason Berry expressed confidence in the timeline, stating that 'we're not panicking yet.' However, any delay in certification could potentially threaten this schedule, which is already running several years behind.

Once certified by federal regulators, Alaska Air must also certify its heads-up display for pilots, a process that will take a few months. Berry acknowledged the tight timeline as 'sporting,' but emphasized that the airline is not yet experiencing undue stress.
