Boeing lands $14.7 billion contract to boost PAC-3 seeker production
Boeing has secured a seven-year contract worth approximately $14.7 billion from Lockheed Martin to significantly increase production of PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) seekers. The agreement, formalized under a framework with the U.S. Department of War, aims to triple output of these critical components, which are essential for advanced Patriot interceptors to identify and engage threats like hypersonic missiles.
The contract supports the Pentagon's Acquisition Transformation Strategy and strengthens the U.S. Arsenal of Freedom. Boeing's Steve Parker, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, emphasized the company's commitment to quality and execution, noting that early investments have positioned them to deliver seekers at unprecedented levels.
Boeing has already begun ramping up production and hiring, with hundreds of jobs expected to be created in Huntsville, Alabama. The company has invested in expanding its seeker factory, modernizing facilities, and strengthening supplier relationships to ensure a resilient and scalable supply chain.
