Boeing Wins Multi-Billion-Dollar Contract for Sixth-Generation Fighter

Boeing has secured a multi-billion-dollar contract from the U.S. Navy to design and build its F/A-XX sixth-generation fighter aircraft, meant to replace the current F/A-18 Super Hornets.

The contract is Boeing's second selection for sixth-generation fighter work following the award of the U.S. Air Force's F-47 program in 2025.

According to Steve Parker, president and chief executive officer at Boeing Defense, Space & Security, the company plans to deliver two advanced fighters in parallel, with construction ongoing on its secure St. Louis manufacturing facility.
