Boeing has secured an order for its first full-rate production MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters. The U.S. Air Force declared initial operating capability for the program earlier this year, paving the way for the award.

Kathleen Jolivette, vice president and general manager of Vertical Lift Programs at Boeing Defense, Space & Security, commented on the milestone: 'This milestone validates key readiness levels for Grey Wolf and supports the service's fielding plans to secure vital national assets across the country's strategic missile fields.'

The contract brings the total number of MH-139As under contract to 42. Boeing has delivered 27 helicopters to date, with the first full-rate production award clearing the way to scale deployment for real-world operations.
