California Business Owner Charged with Smuggling $300M Worth of Nvidia Servers
A California business owner, Greg Lui, also known as Yiu Kong Lui, is facing up to 50 years in federal prison over accusations that he ran a $300 million scheme to route export-controlled Nvidia servers through Southeast Asia and into China.
The Justice Department unsealed charges against Lui on October 2, 2026, naming four Nvidia GPU models at the center of the case: the A100, the H100, the GeForce RTX 4090, and the GeForce RTX 5090.
Prosecutors allege that Lui's operation obtained hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of hardware that should have required a Commerce Department license before leaving the country.
