Canyon Country Man Arrested After Baseball Bat Assault

A 43-year-old man from Canyon Country was arrested after allegedly assaulting another person with a baseball bat in the parking lot of Home Depot on Golden Triangle Road.

According to Deputy Mariela Picard, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, deputies responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 22nd.

A witness reported seeing the suspect chasing another male with a baseball bat and attempting to strike him multiple times before dropping the bat and leaving the area.

Deputies were able to locate the person of interest who was positively identified at the scene. A wooden baseball bat was recovered as evidence.

Daniel Jimenez Lopez, 43, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon likely to cause great bodily injury, a felony. He was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station jail with bail set at $0.
