Caterpillar Expands Autonomous Hauling Technology to Two More Virginia Sites

Luck Stone and Caterpillar are expanding their autonomous hauling technology to two more sites in Virginia. The companies have successfully implemented self-driving trucks at Luck Stone's Bull Run quarry, which has hauled over 3.5 million tons since November 2024.

The new expansion will bring autonomous Cat 775 rigid-frame dump trucks to Luck Stone's Boscobel and Bealeton operations in Virginia. This is a significant development for the industry, as it marks the first time the 775 model has been used with Caterpillar's MineStar system.

Caterpillar will deliver the project, while Carter Machinery will provide support as the local Cat dealer. The expansion includes complementary systems that support loaders and other equipment on site.
