Caterpillar Poised to Reach $1,000 as Services Revenue Surges
Caterpillar's stock has been on an impressive run this year, reaching as high as $1,073.46 in June before settling at around $822 per share on October 1.
The company's consistent dividend growth and increasing focus on services revenue have contributed to its rising valuation multiple.
Caterpillar anticipates generating $30 billion in high-margin services revenue by 2030, up from $24 billion currently. This shift towards services is expected to smooth out the cyclicality of its earnings, allowing it to secure long-duration, high-margin equipment backlogs.
The company's energy and transportation division has become a key supplier of power for data centers, particularly with its reciprocating industrial engines and solar turbines. As hyperscalers sign multi-gigawatt power contracts, Caterpillar is poised to benefit from this growing demand.
