Chevron Strikes Oil and Gas Condensate Discovery in Angola's Block 0
Chevron Corporation announced an oil and gas condensate discovery in Angola's Block 0, marking another significant milestone for the company's exploration program in Sub-Saharan Africa. The discovery was made at the 105-4X exploration well, where over 600 meters of oil and gas condensate column was encountered in the primary Pinda reservoir.
The well hit more than 90 meters of net pay in excellent reservoir quality, which will be assessed for potential development as a tie-back to Chevron's existing facilities nearby. This approach is expected to provide a capital-efficient path to production.
Chevron's Vice President, Exploration, Kevin McLachlan, stated that the discovery is 'another important milestone for Chevron's over 70-year history in Angola.' He emphasized the company's confidence in Angola's resource potential and its strategy of combining high-impact exploration with infrastructure-led opportunities close to existing facilities.
