Chilean Banks Bolster Cyber Defenses with Microsoft Partnership

Chile's banking sector is strengthening its cybercrime defenses through a partnership with Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit. The Association of Banks and Financial Institutions of Chile (ABIF) has signed an agreement to connect its Cybersecurity Coordination Group (VTF) with the DCU, providing access to specialized cyberthreat intelligence and expertise.

The collaboration aims to improve the country's financial sector against cybercrime and digital fraud by sharing knowledge and best practices. ABIF's VTF has analyzed over 8,500 threat intelligence reports in 2026, coordinating responses to 243 active threats targeting Chile's financial sector.

As part of the agreement, Chile's financial sector will gain access to Microsoft's Cyber Threat Intelligence Program, which shares information about emerging cyberthreats. This will enable organizations to anticipate and respond to criminal activity more effectively.
