Coca-Cola's Partnership Brings Shade to Upper Alto Park Ballfields
Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation has finished installing shade structures at the Upper Alto Park ballfields, thanks to a partnership with Coca-Cola. The new shades were installed over the last few weeks and provide much-needed relief from the sun for players, coaches, parents, and spectators.
The project is part of larger improvements at Upper Alto Park, many of which were made possible through funding from voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). Director Todd Wofford said that these types of improvements are crucial, but the department couldn't have afforded them on their own without community partnerships.
'Coca-Cola stepping up to help make this happen is huge for us and for the families who use Alto Park,' Wofford said. 'Alto Park will host over 400,000 visitors through local league and tournament play, so providing a place for players, parents, and spectators to get out of the sun makes a tremendous difference.'
Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation encourages families visiting Alto Park to support Coca-Cola at their concession stands during league play. The department is grateful for partnerships like this one, which help make improvements possible.
