Confluent's 'Better Together' Story with IBM Yields Massive Growth in India
Confluent's integration with IBM has led to a massive increase in enterprise adoption in India, said Rubal Sahni, Vice President of Confluent, an IBM company. With IBM's global sales footprint, Confluent has accelerated its growth, taking the 'Better Together' story to a wider base of customers in India.
The $11 billion acquisition by IBM in December 2025 and operationalized in March 2026 has been a game-changer for Confluent. The integration has expanded their hybrid cloud outreach, filled gaps in their portfolio, and fueled the deployment of agentic AI. Today, IBM combines Confluent's multi-cloud capability across AWS, Azure, and GCP with Red Hat, integrating Confluent's Kora engine to bridge real-time context gaps.
Confluent has seen a significant increase in its cloud business in India, growing over 70% year-over-year. Out of their overall business, close to 75% comes from the cloud business in India. With the help of IBM, they are now venturing into traditional enterprises, public sector, defense, and other industries.
The company is helping its customers productionize AI by providing real-time, fresh, contextual data. Confluent's solution, TableFlow, allows users to write data once and read it multiple times, reducing compute costs. Additionally, they offer a low-cost solution for one-minute use cases through warp streams and freight clusters.
