Apple CEO Tim Cook has denied rumors of his potential retirement, stating that he 'deeply loves' his job and can't imagine life without the company.

In an interview with Good Morning America at ABC News on March 17, 2026, Cook addressed speculation about a possible transition from his role as CEO to chairman. He said he has loved every day of working at Apple since joining the company 28 years ago and praised the people he works with for bringing out the best in him.

Cook's comments come after reports by The New York Times suggested that he was looking to cut back on his workload, possibly paving the way for his succession. According to the report, multiple internal candidates are being considered for the role, including John Ternus, head of hardware engineering and design.

As Apple prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary on April 1, Cook highlighted the company's innovation in various areas, such as music, smartphones, and wearable devices. The company has seen a significant increase in share value, with AAPL shares rising over 19% in the past year.
