A Delta Air Lines flight made an emergency landing in Las Vegas on Sunday after experiencing an unexpected pressurization issue.

The Boeing 737-900, carrying 174 passengers and six crew members, was about halfway from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City when the incident occurred.

According to an air traffic control recording, the pilot announced a rapid descent to 9,000 feet after the pressurization issue arose.

The flight crew followed their training procedures, and oxygen masks deployed during the emergency landing.

The passengers deplaned normally in Las Vegas and were rebooked on another aircraft to continue their journey.
