Dexus Revives Bid for $2 Billion Student Accommodation Business
Dexus, a major player in Australian property and infrastructure, has revived its bid to acquire Campus Living Villages (CLV), a $2 billion student accommodation business. The deal would mark a significant expansion of Dexus's portfolio, which already includes a range of office buildings, retail centers, and industrial parks.
The negotiations between Dexus and CLV's shareholders have been ongoing for nearly three years, with Goldman Sachs acting as the intermediary. This is not the first time Dexus has attempted to acquire CLV, as it had previously tried to buy the business two years ago but ultimately dropped its bid.
CLV operates student accommodation facilities across the globe, including in Australia, the US, and Europe. Its shareholders include Hostplus, Rest Super, Equip Super, and NGS Super, all of which have been looking for a buyer for their stake in the company.
