Disney Celebrates Dolly Parton with Film Re-Release and Philanthropic Efforts

The Walt Disney Company is celebrating Dolly Parton's lasting legacy by re-releasing her film '9 to 5' in theaters and donating net proceeds from ticket sales to The Dollywood Foundation.

As part of this effort, Disney will be hosting a special one-week engagement of the film from October 9-15. Tickets are now on sale nationwide for this theatrical re-release from 20th Century Studios.

In conjunction with the release, Disney is encouraging people to 'Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More' as part of its inaugural 'Give Like Dolly Day,' which honors Parton's lifelong commitment to helping children and inspiring communities.

The Country Music Association (CMA) will also be paying tribute to Dolly Parton with a two-hour live television special featuring performances, archival footage, and personal stories reflecting on her life and career. The event will air live on October 21 on ABC and stream on Disney+ in the U.S. and internationally.
