Disney Cruise Line Names Trent Hitchcock as Opening Cruise Director for Disney Believe
Disney Cruise Line has named Trent Hitchcock as the opening Cruise Director for its upcoming ship, the Disney Believe, set to debut in late 2027. Hitchcock, a veteran with nearly 20 years at Disney Cruise Line, has previously served as Cruise Director for 10 years and was part of the launch team for the Disney Destiny. He has experience aboard every ship in the fleet except the Disney Adventure.
In his new role, Hitchcock will oversee an entertainment operation involving over 200 crew members, responsible for deck parties, fireworks at sea, onboard activities, and Broadway-style stage productions. He expressed pride in leading the entertainment team and seeing the joy it brings to guests, especially through the eyes of his own children.
Hitchcock’s work on the Disney Believe is already underway, with initial conversations about the ship’s entertainment beginning a year before its launch. Next year, he will travel to Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany, where the ship is under construction, and will remain with it through its maiden voyage and inaugural season. This marks the first time Hitchcock will be closely involved with a Disney Cruise Line ship from such an early stage.
The announcement coincides with ongoing revelations about the Disney Believe, which recently reached its keel-laying milestone. More details about the ship will be shared during a special presentation on October 7 at 4:30 p.m. ET, which the DCL Fan team will cover live.
