Disney Expands Dreamers Academy into Year-Round Pilot

The Disney Dreamers Academy has been empowering young people to 'dream beyond imagination' for nearly two decades. As it approaches its 20th anniversary, Walt Disney World Resort is taking this legacy to a new level by expanding the program into a year-round pilot. The initiative will bring Disney Dreamers Academy to 200 middle school students from four metropolitan areas: Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, and Houston.

The new collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs will allow for more students to participate in the program, which has been successful in shaping participants' educational and professional journeys. This expansion is a result of Disney's existing presence and relationships with families and organizations in these communities.

'I've seen firsthand the confidence, connections, and opportunities Disney Dreamers Academy has provided students over the past 19 years,' said Sivonne Davis, Vice President of Marketing Strategy. 'The impact this program has had on young people, their families, and the communities around them is remarkable.'

The year-round pilot will offer a mix of virtual and in-person experiences for the students, including hands-on workshops and interactive programming led by Disney Cast Members and experts. The goal is to provide meaningful relationships and support throughout their journey.
