Disney Hollywood Studios Holiday Ride Changes Start in November
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is bringing a festive twist to its Alien Swirling Saucers ride this holiday season. Starting November 4 and running through January 6, the Toy Story Land attraction will feature a special holiday soundtrack, replacing its usual music with festive tunes like “Toyland,” “Deck the Halls,” “Swirling, Swirling Saucers,” and “Joy to the Swirl.” This seasonal change comes just after the introduction of Lilypad, an interactive character from the upcoming Toy Story 5 (2026), near the ride, adding another new element to the area.
The holiday overlay is part of Disney’s strategy to refresh familiar attractions for the season. Rather than a major refurbishment, the change focuses on music, which already plays a key role in the Alien Swirling Saucers experience. This approach allows Disney to create a temporary, seasonal feel without altering the ride’s physical elements. The limited-time change is designed to encourage repeat visits from guests who have already experienced the attraction.
Alien Swirling Saucers isn’t the only ride getting a holiday makeover. Disney World is also applying seasonal music to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets at Hollywood Studios. This trend of holiday overlays has become a popular way for Disney to offer unique experiences during the festive period, making repeat visits feel different and more special.
Guests interested in the holiday version of Alien Swirling Saucers will have a short window to experience it. The festive soundtrack begins November 4 and ends January 6, after which the attraction will return to its regular soundtrack. This limited availability could make the seasonal version more appealing to returning visitors, especially when combined with the recent addition of Lilypad, which offers another reason to explore this part of Toy Story Land.
