Disney Licenses Content to Netflix as Streaming Wars Continue
The Walt Disney Company has announced a licensing deal with Netflix that will allow the streaming giant to stream select Disney content starting October 4.
The agreement includes the first two seasons of 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' for a limited three-month window ahead of its third season debut on Disney+, as well as all five 'Ice Age' films globally timed with the upcoming 'Ice Age: Boiling Point' release, and select Disney Animation and Pixar titles early next year.
The deal reflects Disney's flexible content distribution strategy, balancing its own streaming platform Disney+ with lucrative licensing partnerships.
GuruFocus' proprietary GF Value metric indicates that Disney is modestly undervalued at current prices, with a 13.4% discount to its intrinsic value based on historical trading multiples and business growth.
