Disney Reveals Monstropolis Restaurants for 2027 Monsters, Inc. Land
Walt Disney World has unveiled the second of two restaurants that will open in its upcoming Monsters, Inc.-themed land, set to debut in 2027. The new land, called Monstropolis, will be part of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and will feature a mix of dining and entertainment options.
The first restaurant revealed is Harryhausen’s sushi restaurant, which will include an animatronic octopus-like sushi chef. The menu will feature classic sushi dishes alongside ramen, with playful twists such as fishcake slices shaped like eyeballs and green eggs. The second restaurant, Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, will take over the former PizzeRizzo space and continue serving Disney’s quick-service pizza. The menu will also introduce a new drink, Blort, themed to the land’s favorite soft drink, described as a frozen purple beverage with green “Scream Apple Foam.”
While the announcement has generated excitement, some critics have expressed skepticism about the quality of the offerings. One reviewer noted that Disney’s quick-service pizza has been subpar in the past, and they are not optimistic about improvements. Similarly, the ramen dishes, while easy to produce, can be difficult to get right, with many places serving overly salty broth.
Despite these reservations, there is hope that Disney will surprise visitors with high-quality food. The full reveal of the Monstropolis restaurants can be viewed on Disney’s Instagram page.
