Disney Unveils New Theme Park Attractions Inspired by Beloved Animated Films

Disney has unveiled new theme park attractions inspired by its beloved animated films at its D23 fan event. The company's experiences division is a significant driver of operating profit, and these announcements demonstrate how animation remains a crucial part of Disney's success.

The first attraction will be based on 'Monsters, Inc.' and will open in 2027 at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. It will feature a suspended roller coaster that takes visitors through the door warehouse seen in the Pixar film, as well as stage shows and locations inspired by characters from the movie.

The land will also include an area themed around Harryhausen's restaurant and the Glob Theater. In addition to the 'Monsters, Inc.' attraction, Disney announced several other projects based on popular animated films such as 'Encanto,' 'Coco,' 'The Lion King,' and 'Cars.'

At Disney California Adventure, visitors will be able to experience a new boat ride inspired by 'Coco' that takes place one year after the original film. The ride will carry guests through Miguel's memories of the Land of the Dead.
