Disney Veteran Eric Schrier Leaves DTC Role for Studio Production Deal

Disney executive Eric Schrier is leaving his position as president of direct-to-consumer international originals, strategic programming, and emerging media after a 26-year career at the company. In a memo to staff, Debra O'Connell, chairman of Disney Entertainment Television, announced that Schrier will be transitioning to a production deal with the studio.

Schrier's departure comes as Joe Earley takes on new responsibilities as president of Disney Entertainment Television Franchise and Content Strategy, while Adam Smith becomes chairman of the entire DTC business. The move was described by O'Connell as 'the right moment for Eric to pursue his next chapter.'

Schrier has worked on over 100 original series during his time at Disney, including 'The Bear,' 'Atlanta,' and 'American Horror Story.' He previously served as president of FX Entertainment in 2019 and was named president of Disney Television Studios in 2022.
