Disney World Ditches Single Rider Line at Expedition Everest

Walt Disney World has confirmed that the Single Rider line at Expedition Everest will be eliminated starting September 21, 2026. This change comes after several months of testing a new guest grouping process for the standby line.

The current system sorts guests into odd and even numbered groups, allowing Cast Members to fill ride vehicles more efficiently and reducing the need for Single Riders. As a result, the Single Rider wait times have increased at Expedition Everest, and it has been closed completely in some instances.

The elimination of the Single Rider line is seen as a win for guests waiting in the standby line, who will experience lower average wait times. However, this change is a loss for those who relied on the Single Rider line to reduce their wait time.
