Disney World's Ride Crisis Worsens as Major Attractions Shut Down Repeatedly
Walt Disney World's ride problem has reached new heights in September, with several major attractions experiencing repeated closures. The issue is not just limited to one or two rides, but affects all four theme parks at the resort.
The numbers are staggering: Avatar Flight of Passage was relatively reliable, shutting down only three times during the 29-day period. However, other popular rides fared much worse. Na'vi River Journey shut down six times in that same time frame.
Things only get worse from there. Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney's Hollywood Studios each experienced 20 closures over just 15 days. Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT went down 27 times in 20 days, while Frozen Ever After had an astonishing 29 closures across 18 days.
The list of repeat offenders continues to grow, with Expedition Everest and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad experiencing 32 and 34 closures respectively. Tiana's Bayou Adventure was not far behind, shutting down 38 times over the same period.
But the biggest problem lies elsewhere. Kali River Rapids experienced a mere 40 closures, compared to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train which tied at 41 shutdowns each. These are major attractions that guests build their park days around, and repeated downtime can be frustrating.
Spaceship Earth at EPCOT recorded an impressive 54 closures in just 25 days, while Slinky Dog Dash at Disney's Hollywood Studios shut down 55 times over the same period. However, one ride stood out from the rest: Test Track experienced a staggering 93 closures across just 29 days.
With prices for Disney World vacations soaring, guests expect consistency from the resort's major attractions. The repeated downtime can derail carefully planned park days and leave families feeling frustrated.
