Disney's Adult-Focused Cruises Overwhelmed by Demand for Exclusive Spaces

The Disney Cruise Line's new ship, Disney Destiny, offers an adult-focused experience that's gained popularity among millennials who grew up during Disney's Renaissance era. The ship has been designed to cater to adults with luxurious spaces, entertainment options, and immersive experiences.

Caitlin Hornik, a self-proclaimed 'Disney adult,' embarked on a four-night cruise aboard the Disney Destiny for her 32nd birthday. She was accompanied by her mother and was impressed by the ship's attention to detail and themed bars, such as De Vil's, which references the classic film '101 Dalmatians.'

However, Hornik found that the adults-only spaces on the ship were often overcrowded and undersized for demand. The Haunted Mansion Parlor, Cask and Cannon, and The Rose, all geared towards grown-ups, were frequently packed, making it difficult to find a seat or even get in.

The Disney Imagineering team acknowledged that families are at the heart of their ship design, but they also aim to create an elevated experience for adults. They claimed that the adults-only spaces are intentionally designed to be intimate and immersive, reflecting Cruella's bold personality in De Vil's.
