Disney's Classic Carousel Reborn: A New Era for Progress

The historic Walt Disney attraction Carousel of Progress is undergoing its biggest reimagining in over six decades. The revamped show will debut at Magic Kingdom in late spring 2027, after a final closure on July 5, 2026.

A preview exhibit inside the Walt Disney Presents gallery at Disney's Hollywood Studios offers guests an up-close look at the attraction's updates. The display features authentic costumes, scale dioramas, and concept art from the reimagined show.

The new Carousel of Progress will focus on eras remembered firsthand by modern generations, with updated scenes depicting late 1960s, 1980s, and 1999 living environments. The show's central musical theme, 'There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow,' remains unchanged.
