Disney's Reservation System Shows No Signs of Backing Down

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders have grown accustomed to a more flexible experience in recent years, but a contentious policy remains firmly in place. On September 26, three parks reached capacity due to high demand, leaving some wondering if Disney will ever eliminate the theme park reservation system.

The requirement was put in place to control attendance, especially during peak periods. While most days do not reach reservation capacity, the ability for Passholders to enter any of the four parks without a reservation after 2:00 p.m., except Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays, has made it less burdensome.

However, with recent events demonstrating that demand can still be high, Disney may have little reason to remove the requirement. The company has not announced an end date for the Passholder requirement, and it's now speculated that Annual Pass prices could increase before reservations disappear.
