Ditching Auto-Schedule: How to Take Control of Your Nest Thermostat
The Google Nest Learning Thermostat is designed to learn your habits and adapt to your preferences over time. This includes its auto-schedule feature, which studies your usage habits after a few days and automatically starts following them.
However, this feature may not be for everyone. If you prefer manual control over temperature changes or don't want the thermostat guessing your schedule, you can turn off these learning features.
To do so, open the Google Home App, go to Home, then Climate, and select Your Thermostat. From there, choose Settings, Temperature Preferences, and toggle off Auto-Schedule.
Clearing the existing schedule will make the thermostat work like a 'dumb' one until you set up a new schedule. You can also create your own custom schedule or temperature alterations using the Google Home App.
