DLSS 5 Leaks Through NBA 2K27, Community Adapts Technology to Various Games
Nvidia's latest gaming upgrade, DLSS 5, has leaked through an early-access PC build of NBA 2K27. The NR runtime, identified as Nvidia DLSSNR, was reportedly spotted by researcher Renan Maniero in the game's files.
Using RenoDX, a DirectX-game modding framework built around ReShade's add-on system, the community has been experimenting with the leaked library and adapting it to other games. Tests have been successful in Control, Cyberpunk 2077, Skyrim, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Grand Theft Auto V.
DLSS5-Swapper is a free, open-source utility that allows users to install the necessary files, back up a game's original DLSS components, and restore them if anything breaks. Running the app is relatively simple: download it from the GitHub releases page, let it auto-scan your library or add folders manually, pick a supported title, and hit the Install DLSS 5 button.
The leaked DLSSNR runtime is an unofficial, experimental runtime with inconsistent results and a steep performance penalty. Nvidia had teased the technology as part of its neural-rendering plans but did not intend for it to be public yet.
