Dow Jones Rebounds Above 51,800 Amid Declines in Oil Prices and Bond Yields
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rebounded above 51,800 after falling to its lowest level in three months on Wednesday. The index was boosted by a decline in crude oil prices and a drop in bond yields.
Crude oil fell below $100 a barrel, with Brent near $102. This decline had a positive impact on the Dow Jones, as Chevron, the only energy company in the index, carries 2.5% of its weight.
The 10-year Treasury yield also dropped back under 5%, which helped to boost the Dow Jones. The yield's decline was seen as a positive sign for the economy, and it contributed to the rebound in the index.
