The Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted by 336 points to 51,492.19 in early trading on Monday due to higher oil prices and Treasury yields putting pressure on stocks.

Nvidia bucked this weakness with a jump of over 3% after announcing the largest increase to its share buyback authorization on record, worth $150 billion.

The S&P 500 slipped by 0.50% to 7,704.53 and the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.51% to 26,931.86.
