Dubai Basketball Soars in EuroLeague Debut with Thrilling Win over Real Madrid
Dubai Basketball marked its debut in the EuroLeague with an electrifying one-point win over Real Madrid at Coca-Cola Arena on Thursday. The hosts trailed by six points late in the game, but McKinley Wright IV's clutch three-pointer with 55 seconds remaining secured a thrilling 78-77 victory.
The triumph was all the more remarkable given that Dubai Basketball is still a relatively new team, founded only in 2023 and competing at the top level for the first time. The club has been gaining momentum, with over 100,000 spectators attending its games at Coca-Cola Arena so far.
The partnership between Dubai Basketball and Mr. Eight Branded Residences, announced earlier this month, is expected to bring new energy to the team's growth strategy. As part of the three-year agreement, Mr. Eight will have its name featured on the club's jerseys, marking a significant milestone in the developer's growing presence in the market.
Dejan Kamenjašević, President of Dubai Basketball, described the partnership as 'more than a conventional sponsorship' and emphasized the shared ambition and European outlook between the two entities. Mr. Eight Development Director Emils Daujats echoed this sentiment, highlighting the company's pride in representing Dubai through its support for the team.
