Eli Lilly Could Surpass $2,000 Per Share in Three Years, Says Ken Langone
Home Depot Co-Founder Ken Langone believes Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) has the potential to reach $2,000 per share within three to four years.
This prediction is based on the company's strong leadership, research spending, and diverse pipeline of medications, according to Langone.
Eli Lilly has a nearly 50-year connection with Langone, who acquired control of IVAC in 1972 and Lilly bought it in 1977 for $50 million in stock. Langone purchased additional shares during major market pullbacks and now holds the stock as his largest personal investment holding, surpassing Home Depot (NYSE: HD).
Langone attributes Eli Lilly's growth to Chairman and CEO David Ricks' leadership and Head of R&D Dan Skovronsky's efforts to expand the company's pipeline. He also credits the annual research budget of $17 billion to $18 billion.
