EU Travel Tech Demands Full Compliance from Google on Self-Preferencing
Google has been urged to fully comply with an EU decision issued in July, which ordered the tech giant to stop granting an advantage to its own services through its search engine. The call comes from EU Travel Tech, a trade body that represents companies in the European travel industry. According to the trade body, Google's recent changes do not go far enough and leave 'substantial compliance questions unresolved.'
The European Commission had ordered Google to stop self-preferencing in July, giving the company until September 28 to comply. While Google has made some changes, EU Travel Tech believes that more needs to be done to address the issue.
