FAA Delays Boeing 737 MAX 10 Certification Over Software Glitch

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has delayed the certification of Boeing's 737 MAX 10 due to a software issue that could affect certain landing procedures.

Boeing had expected to receive certification for the plane 'very soon,' according to CEO Kelly Ortberg, but the FAA is taking a closer look at a glitch in the vertical navigation system after an aircraft misses an approach and has to go around and line up to land again.

The FAA Administrator, Bryan Bedford, said that the agency is following its safety review process to investigate the software glitch and won't hesitate to take action if needed. 'Safety dictates the certification timeline,' Bedford stated.
