Fan-Designed KP-1 Droid Figure Now Available at Disney Store
The Disney Store has added a new figure to its Droid Factory Build-A-Droid collection, featuring the fan-designed KP-1 droid from the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. The KP-1 figure, priced at $19.99, showcases the droid’s unique cone-shaped design with three modular sections, a white base color with dark green panels and silver accents, and an extendable dome-shaped head. The set also includes one piece of RX-01 from Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, requiring six additional monthly releases to complete the full RX-01 figure.
The KP-1 droid was originally designed by French Star Wars fan Camille Manet, who won the 2019 Build My Droid contest organized by Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Force for Change initiative and the global robotics organization FIRST. Manet’s design, named KP-1 for “Knave Puff,” was later brought to life in Obi-Wan Kenobi and features a loyal, clever, but easily offended character prone to panicking when warning its owner of danger.
In addition to the online availability, Walt Disney World visitors can also find the fan-made droid in person at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The figure comes with a collector card featuring the original concept art and more information about the droid, making it a must-have for collectors.
