Fitbit Edge Spotted in Retail Listings Ahead of Official Launch
Google's latest wearable device has been spotted in retail listings under the name 'Fitbit Edge'. This leak comes after an accidental marketing exposure in August and a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) listing last month. The Fitbit Edge features a unique design with a bulbous screen that extends closer to the edges than previous Fitbit trackers.
The device's face is similar to the Pixel Watch, showing time and date along with complications for heart rate, step count, and workout tracking. On the back of the device are metal strips on either side, which are likely used for ECG readings.
The Fitbit Edge also features a band removal mechanism at the top and bottom, as well as a sensor stack similar to the Fitbit Air. The device supports both Android and iOS devices and has up to 7 days of battery life. It also includes apps such as Google Maps, media controls, and find my phone functionality.
