Former Businessman Richard G. 'Rick' McCartney Passes Away at Age 85

Richard G. 'Rick' McCartney, a veteran businessman and outdoors enthusiast, passed away on August 18, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in Philadelphia, he grew up to become a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1962 to 1968.

After his military service, Rick built a long career in inventory and sales, working for several prominent companies including Minneapolis Honeywell, General Electric, BF Goodrich, HPD Industries, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, and Veyance Technologies. He retired from this work in 2011.

Rick was known for his sense of humor and adventurous spirit, which he instilled in those around him. He enjoyed a range of activities including golf, tennis, biking, and spending time at the Jersey Shore with his loved ones.
