Google Brings Live Avatars to Support Bots with Advanced Reasoning

Google's new Gemini Live Avatars aim to humanize support bots by giving them a visual persona that combines real-time video generation with speech models.

The avatars, part of the Gemini 3.8 family, can adapt their lip-syncing and facial expressions as they switch between 97 languages.

They are powered by Gemini's advanced reasoning and asynchronous tool calling, allowing them to trigger tool calls and fetch data in the background without interrupting conversations.

Live Avatars will be available for Gemini Enterprise subscriptions starting today, but it's not clear when or if they'll become widely available.
